Prosecute Nifong - State Bar Ethics charges not enough
Michael Byron "Mike" Nifong broke the law as he sought personal professional gain in the Duke lacrosse team false rape accussation scandal. Sure, the North Carolina bar association has started an investigation and Nifong may eventually be disbarred. But that is a sad joke. Nifong broke the law, so what if he can't be a lawyer anymore. Nifong must be prosecuted. Getting a slap on the wrist is not good enough. Why should he escape prosecution, just because he is a lawyer?

I agree. I believe the whole justice system in Durham including judges, the DA, and the police should all be investigated and charged as necessary.
Nifong wanted to put three guys behind bars for 30 years for something he knew didn't happen? Why shouldn't he be put in prison for 30 years, or, to be poetic, three days for each day of suffering each of those he persecuted? 1,185 days for what he did to Finnerty, and another 1,185 days for what he did to Evans, and another 1,185 days for what he did to Seligmann, no parole, followed by an equivalent amount of probation where he is not allowed to work for the government or any lawyer, even as a janitor. Ask his victims if 3,555 days in prison is enough for the 'Fong.
